INVESTORS INTERESTED IN PADANG TRASH PROCESSING PROJECT
Padang, Aug 5 (ANTARA) - A number of both local and foreign investors have become interested in a trash management project in Padang city, provincial capital of West Java, especially that the refuse can be processed into organic fertilizer.
"A number of local and foreign investors have applied for cooperation in trash processing in Padang," head of the Padang investment office Azwin said here Wednesday.
He said the fertilizer can be used for farming purposes, and it is cheaper than inorganic fertilizer, like urea, KCL, and some others.
He said the trash produced in Padang and disposed of in a number of several dumping places reached hundreds of tons each day.
"The biggest volume of the trash is disposed of at the Aia Dingin dumping site in Koto Tangah district at a rate of 400 tons each day," he said.
Now, he added, the Padang city administration is awaiting the final decision form the investors.
He also said that the Padang city administration will provide a legal certainty and investment security to investors in the area under his jurisdiction.
The Padang city administration, he added, will also prepare a number of other facilities, including lower cost of obtaining permits, and tax incentives.
