PRESIDENT PRAISES PEOPLE FOR ACEH'S CHOICE
Banda Aceh, Aug 5 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appreciated and thanked the people of Aceh for having voted for him in the recent presidential elections.
"With sincerity, I should express my gratitude and appreciation to the people of Aceh for their greatest support for (my second) five year term. I will account for the people of Aceh's trust they have given me," he said here on Wednesday.
He said long before he was elected president in 2004, he had since 2000 been giving attention to the solution of the conflict in Aceh province.
"Far before I become president, I have since 2000 visited Aceh several times in my capacity of chief political and security minister seeking respectable ways of solving the conflict," he said.
