TWO TERROR SUSPECTS MOVED FROM TEMANGGUNG TO JAKARTA

Jakarta, Aug, 10 (ANTARA) - Two terror suspects identified as Aris and Hendera who were caught in Temanggung, Central Java, were flown to Jakarta on Monday for interrogation, a police official said.

They were moved to Jakarta after being named suspects for hiding a fugitive terrorist, Inspector General Nanan Soekarna, a spokesman of the Indonesian Police said here on Monday.

"whether both of them were involved in the bombing of JW Marriott, we will investigate that," he said.

The police, however, had not transferred Munzahri, the owner of a house raided by the police's anti-terror unit Densus-88 at Beji village, Kedu sub district, Temanggung Central Java, which was used by a terror suspect (believed to be Noordin M Top) as a hideout.

The police are still investigating whether Munzahri was involved in the JW Marriott bombing case, or in hiding a fugitive.

If Munzahri was proven of to have hidden the fugitive, he would be named a suspect, too, Ins. Gen. Soekarna said.

In a police raid in Temanggung, last Saturday (Aug. 8), one person suspected to be fugitive Malaysian-born terrorist Noordin M Top, was killed.

His remains were later sent to Kramat Jati Police Hospital in eastern Jakarta. Earlier, the police had sent the remains of other terrorist suspects, namely Dani Dwi Permana, Nana Ihwan Maulana, Air Setiawan and Eko Joko Sarjono, to the same hospital.
