Jakarta, Aug 13 (ANTARA) - The government has agreed to buy the divestment shares of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro will soon send a letter to the company informing it on the plan.

State enterprises minister Sofyan Djalil said in Jakarta Wednesday the letter will say that the government agreed to buying the shares to which it was entitled.

He also said despite the government assurance, the discussions have yet to reach technical matters.

It is worth noting that the government got a divestment allocation for 2008 and 2009 totalling 14 percent.

Previously, the government and Newmont already agreed that 100 percent of NNT's assets were worth 3.526 billion US dollars, and with the assets 14 percent of the divestment shares for 2008 and 2009 amounted to 493.64 million US dollars.
