YUDHOYONO CAMP APPRECIATES TWO RIVALS` ACCEPTANCE OF COURT RULING
Jakarta, Aug 13 (ANTARA) - The success team of the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Boediono presidential election ticket appreciates the willingness of rival candidates to accept the Constitutional Court's ruling on their election-related complaints, a spokesman said.
"We appreciate the willingness of Megawati and Kalla to accept the court's ruling. Their attitude will establish a mature and healthy tradition in our democracy," Yudhoyono-Boediono campaign team spokesman Anas Urbaningrum said here on Thursday.
He said Megawati Soekarnoputri's and Jusuf Kalla's attitude would create a conducive situation and a fresh atmosphere for Yudhoyono's victory speech next week.
"Yudhoyono has actually waited for the Constitutional Court ruling to deliver his victory speech next week," Urbaningrum said.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Constitutional Court rejected the lawsuit on an election dispute filed by the Megawati-Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pairs.
The court said the various problems found in the recent presidential election were not structural, systematic and massive and therefore the election was valid.
"(The violations) did not make the election legally flawed or invalid," chief judge Moh Mahfud MD said when reading out the court's decision regarding the dispute over the results of the presidential election on July 8.
The Megawati-Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto tickets had filed complaints with the court regarding the results of the election that gave incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono the most votes.
