RUPIAH TUMBLES SLIGHTLY EARLY FRIDAY

Jakarta, Aug. 14 (ANTARA) - The rupiah tumbled slightly against the US dollar at the Jakarta interbank spot market here on Friday morning as investors continue to release the greenback.

The Indonesian currency traded at Rp9,930-Rp9,945 per US dollar, down 10 points from Rp9,920-9,935 per US dollar at the market's close a day earlier.

Investors still focused their intention on the president's state-to-the-nation address, hoping to hear a positive issue which could encourage them to play actively in the market, Kostaman Thayib, banking retail director of Bank Mega, said.

They, however, still considered the country a potential market as foreign investment continued to flow into the domestic stock market, he said.
