TNI PREPARING PEACEKEEPERS FOR CONGO



Jakarta, Aug 14 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian military (TNI) is preparing another United Nations peacekeeping force for Congo.

The Indonesian contingent belongs to the TNI Konga XX-G/Monuc 2009 engineering task force led by Lt Col Arnold A.P. Ritiauw, deputy operations assistant to TNI Commander - Commodore Marsetio said in Bogor Friday.

"The troops will replace Konga XX-F/Monuc engineering task force in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was about to conclude its assignment," he said.

The preparations of the contingent for Congo included exercises at the Engineerng Training Center from August 14 to September, 2009, and tactical and combat training from September 4 to 10, 2009.
