TARZAN ENTERTAINS RI SOLDIERS IN LEBANON

Jakarta, Aug 14 (ANTARA) - Indonesian senior comedians Tarzan and Marwoto on Thursday entertained military (TNI) personnel assigned in South Lebanon.

The visit of the two comedians to the headquarters of the Garuda XXIII-C contingent in Adshit al Qusayr, South Lebanon, was quite an intertainment to the soldiers who had been almost 10 months assigned in the area, an electronic message from the TNI information service in Lebanon said in Jakarta Friday.

Information Officer of Konga XXIII-C Lt Col Hari Mulyanto said Tarzan and Marwoto in the company of artist Nia Carina, entertained the soldiers for about two hours.

Sporting a UN inform with Chief Corporal, Tarzan managed to interact with the soldiers with great success.

The event was also attended by Indonesian ambassador to Lebanon Bagas Hapsoro.

On Wednesday night, Tarzan and Marwoto also entertained members of the Indonesian community in Lebanon. The two are also scheduled to appear at the 64th Indonesian Independence Day celebrations in that country.

There are about 1,300 TNI personnel under the UN peacekeeping forces in South Lebanon (UNIFIL) both for land and maritime operations.
