The establishment of the both the Commission on Human Rights as a
government agency and the National Assembly for Human Rights
contribute in the dissemination of a culture of human rights in many
parts of the Kingdom, and activate the mechanisms of monitoring and
follow-up of any violations of these rights in addition to receiving
complaints and inspecting the conditions of prisons and advising on
laws and regulations. In recognition of the Saudi Arabian efforts,
the international human rights bodies and other regional bodies
commended the Saudi achievements including the holding of Municipal
Councils election in 2005, the establishment of the Saudi Journalists
Association in 2003 and the establishment of the King Abdul Aziz
Center for National Dialogue in 2003 and the Custodian of the Two
Holy Mosques call for dialogue among followers of religions and
peaceful co-existence between peoples.

As a result of these efforts, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques
King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz received Lech Walesa's Prize for his
contribution towards "inter-faith dialogue, tolerance, peace and
international cooperation", as well as for his charity works.

The ever-increasing Human Rights in Saudi Arabia resulted in Shoura
Council adopting resolution 81/117 / D 2005 regarding the attribution
of all human rights to the ad hoc committee -- the Committee on
Islamic Affairs and Human Rights which was renamed in 1426 AH as the
Committee on Islamic Affairs, judicial and human rights.

The international human rights bodies commended the Saudi Arabian
adoption of the national strategy to protect the integrity and the
fight against corruption, through a specialized body to combat
corruption, and development of programs and mechanisms for their
application.

The international agencies also commended the royal directives to
deport foreign prisoners to their countries in accordance with a set
of guarantees and procedures and also praised Labour system of work
and workers, which was adopted in 2005, that regulates and protects
the rights of workers.
