Jeddah, August 17, SPA -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired today the Cabinet meeting at
Al Salam Palace in Jeddah.

At the outset of the session, the King reassured the cabinet about
the health of Crown Prince and Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense
and Aviation and Inspector General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud, thanking Allah Almighty for his speedy recovery.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session,

Abdullah briefed the cabinet on the discussions and consultations he
made in the past few days with leaders and envoys of friendly
countries regarding the recent developments on the international
arena including the two phone calls he received from Yemeni President
Ali Abdullah Saleh and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Khoja added that the cabinet listened to a report on the latest
developments in the region and across the world. With regards to the
Palestinian issue, the cabinet stressed once more the threats
surrounding the Palestinian Cause due to the current disputes among
the Palestinian factions, warning that such feuds would only serve
the enemy. The cabinet also called upon all Palestinians to take
immediate action to contain whatever pending issues there might be in
order to achieve the ultimate goal of establishing the unified
