UAE, Chinese officials discuss business, economic cooperation

Beijing - Aug 18, 2009 (WAM) - The business delegation accompanying General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today held a series of talks with senior officials at the Chinese business sector.
H.E. Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA) met with China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) Vice Chairman Chao Ning in presence of H.E. Yousif bin Omeir bin Yousif, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and H.E. Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department for Economic Development. They discussed during the meeting ways to enhance cooperation between Abu Dhabi and China, particularly in economic and business fields.
The two sides confirmed their desire to remove all obstacles standing in the way of a sustainable and fruitful cooperation.
Al Suwaidi held talks with Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) Zhang Guobao in presence of bin Yousif and Waleed Al Moqarrab Al Muhairi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi council for economic development and Chief Operating officer of Mubadala.
Al Suwaidi and Guobao explored means to further cooperation in different fields, including oil '&' gas industries, as well as available opportunities for developing joint investments. The two sides welcomed the talks, currently underway between ADNOC and the Chinese companies.
Al Suwaidi also met with the Deputy Administrator of State Administration of Foreign Exchange ("SAFE") Wang Xiaoyi. During the meeting, attended by Yousif bin Omeir bin Yosif, they discussed exchange visits by SAFE officials and the concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi.
