ULAN-BATOR, August 25 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Mongolia have all
resources and political will to settle all problem questions, said on
Tuesday President Dmitry Medvedev at the talks with his Mongolian
colleague Tsakhiagiyn Elbegdorzh.
"We spoke of problems that should be removed. I'm sure we have all
resources for this, and what's the main thing, political will, expressed
in the determination of the two presidents to draw the line under the most
difficult outstanding problems," he noted.
According to Medvedev, the sides "discussed projects which
traditionally connect us and which, I hope, will connect us in future as
well as we spoke of the future" at the talks in the narrow format.
The Russian leader is also confident that "the visit, in its content
and elements, will be one of the most important historic visits which
connect our countries by numerous invisible links of cooperation". "All
festivities that will be staged tomorrow, will have a good resonance and
will be accepted well by our peoples, which is the most important thing,"
Medvedev added.
"I reckon that the victory our peoples had achieved, helped the
development of our countries, contributed to their independence and headed
off a great number of threats which faced at the time our states and the
world as a whole," the Russian head of state emphasised.
"Our duty is to mark together this victory, and I accepted with
pleasure your proposal and came to Mongolia so as to spend these days
together," Medvedev addressed Elbegdorzh.
The Russian leader thanked Elbegdorzh for the opportunity to celebrate
together the 70th anniversary of the victory on the Khalkhin-Gol and, in
turn, invited him to come to Moscow. "I'd like to congratulate you again
on the victory at the elections and to invite you to the Russian
Federation, to come to our country on a visit," Medvedev addressed the
Mongolian president.
In turn, the Mongolian head of state expressed confidence that "this
visit will have great importance for the development of friendly relations
and cooperation between our partners at the level of strategic partnership
and will enrich them with a new content".
"I'm sincerely grateful to you that you accepted the invitation to
participate in festivities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the
victory on the Khalkhin-Gol River," he added.
