Turkmen president invites Turkey to invest in Avaza tourist zone

ASHGABAT, August 29 (Itar-Tass) -- President Gurbanguly
Berdymukhamedov has invited Turkish investors to participate in projects
of the tourist zone Avaza which is being built on the Turkmen shore of the
Caspian Sea. "Investors, firms and companies, which are working here, are
given considerable tax and customs privileges," the president stressed
speaking at a special business forum in Antalya on Friday. The Turkmen
head of state is staying here on a working visit.
"The total cost of facilities being erected on the Caspian shore has
already made more than 1.5 billion US dollars," Berdymukhamedov said. "The
construction of a new airport, motor roads, a powerful gas-turbine
electric power station, desalination and water purification installations,
new hotels, sanatoria and resorts is in full swing."
As a good example showing the dynamics of Turkmen-Turkish partnership,
the president said that "trade turnover in 2008 amounted to 855.2 million
US dollars, and according to the results of six months of 2009, this index
reached about 700 million US dollars. A total of 536 companies with the
participation of Turkish capital are involved in the projects of
construction, trade, transport and industry," the Turkmen president said.
