New oil and gas field launched in Siberia
IRKUTSK, September 4 (Itar-Tass) -- Production was launched at a new
oil and gas field in Siberia, the Irkutsk oil Company said on Thursday.
The West Ayanskoe field with proven oil reserves of 24 million tons
and gas reserves of 29.9 billion cubic meters is located in Lake Baikal
area 100 kilometers from the East Siberia - Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil
pipeline. The new field will be connected to the trunk line.
So far two fields are operating in ESPO area - Verkhnechonskoe in
Irkutsk region and Talakan in Yakutia.
