Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz congratulates King Saud University
Riyadh, September 04, SPA -- Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of
Riyadh Region, congratulated King Saud University (KSU) on being
placed among the best 200 universities worldwide according to an
internationally-renowned classification.
A recent survey, conducted by the Spanish webometrics
classification, placed KSU as the world's 197th, an unprecedented
academic achievement of a university in the region.
KSU came first in the Arab and Islamic worlds and the Middle East
and ranked 21st in the Asian arena, according to the classification.
In a letter to the Rector of KSU Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman, Prince
Salman bin Abdulaziz, who is also Chairman of the university's
Endowments Supreme Committee, praised the university's personnel
for the strenuous efforts they exerted to enable the university
occupy this prestigious level.
In a reply, Dr. Al-Othman reminded that the endowments department
has enabled the university to raise more than 1.5 billion Saudi
Riyals to establish ten endowment towers.
Prince Salman has set up a qualitative research chair in the field
of civilization and history and provided the university's library
with a sizable support, the rector said in his letter.
