Over 3,5 mln people participate in Moscow City Day outdoor celebration

MOSCOW, September 6 (Itar-Tass) -- Over 3.5 million Muscovites and
guests participated in the City Day celebration on Saturday, the head of
the Moscow police department's information service, Viktor Biryukov, told
Itar-Tass.
Festivities with concerts and contests took place in all the districts
of the capital, and the most number of people gathered in the central part
of the city -- about 500,000 people participated in the celebration there,
Buryukov said.
No serious incidents were reported in the city during the day. People
were in a good mood, enjoying the warm sunny weather. No public order
violations were reported on Saturday, Nobody was detained at the mass
events, the official said.
A total of about 20,000 policemen ensure order in Moscow during the
weekend.
The main festive grounds in the capital were Tverskaya, Pushkinskaya,
Teatralnaya and Lubyanka squares and Poklonnaya Hill, where concerts were
held during the day.
The celebration on Saturday was concluded with fireworks.
