New Israeli scheme to seize more Palestinian Lands

The Occupied Al Quds (Jerusalem), September 08, SPA --Palestinian
Documentation sources disclosed today a New Israeli occupation plan
to seize more Palestinian lands in Al-Farouq neighborhood of Jabal Al
Mukaber (Mount Scopus) to convert dozens of acres to areas of bushes
and forests.

Lawyer Ahmed Al Ruwadhdi, head of Al Quds Unit at the
Palestinian Presidency said that the scheme is part of Israeli
attempts to control the land and real estate in Jerusalem, and
especially in the old town and its environs in Sheikh Jarrah, Wadi
Al-Joz, Salwan, Mount Scopus. It is worrying that that the plan is
submitted by the Israel Lands Administration (ILA) and Jewish
National Fund (Keren Kayemet LeYisrael) had submitted a plan No.
10188 for control of an area of 550 dunams (A metric dunam is equal
to 1,000 square metres) in al-Faruq neighborhood in Mount Scopus.

Al Ruwadhdi added said that this new scheme, which is the most
serious of the schemes that have been made in recent years, includes
a vast area only a few meters from the walls of the Old City.

He also said that the scheme has been published only in the Hebrew
newspapers without informing the residents of the area and that the
statutory period allowed for objections expiring on the 22nd of this
month.
