Saudi medical team succeeds to separate a newly-born Siamese
Riyadh, September 11, SPA -- Upon instructions of the Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a Saudi
medical team, led by surgeon Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabee'a,
who is also Minister of Health, today successfully performed a rare
and critical surgery for a newly-born incomplete Saudi twins .
At King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, the operation was
performed for a three-week old child with serious defects, who
otherwise would have been complete Siamese twins.
In a statement, Al-Rabee'a congratulated the monarch, his Crown
Prince and the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister on the
success of the surgery.
The patient is expected to be discharged from hospital within few
days, he said.
