MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) - Bilateral trade between Russia and
Vietnam more than doubled over the past two years, said Industry and Trade
Minister Viktor Khristenko, who co-chairs the intergovernmental commission.
Speaking at the exhibition of Vietnam's export goods in Moscow, he
said "partnership relations between our countries are based on age-old
experience of multifaceted cooperation."
"Of late these relations strengthened considerably. Over the past two
years the trade output more than doubled," he said adding that in 2008 the
bilateral trade exceeded 1.6 billion U.S. dollars.
"We have effective and successful projects in many areas," Khristenko
said. "The global financial crisis did not affect bilateral trade, it
continues to grow in 2009. We created necessary tools for a favorable
investment climate," he said expressing confidence that Russia and Vietnam
"will appreciate these achievements to develop dynamics of our relations."
"I am confident that future Russian-Vietnamese relations will register
only onward trends in all areas," the minister said.
Taking part in the exhibition are over 80 business representatives
from 16 provinces and towns of Vietnam.
