Russian-Vietnamese intergovt commission to convene in Hanoi on Oct
MOSCOW, September 15 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian-Vietnamese
intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will gather for its next meeting in Hanoi on October 19-21, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang said on Tuesday during the bilateral forum entitled "Vietnam - Trade and Investment Opportunities in Agriculture, Timber and Fishery industries."
Hoang co-chairs the commission jointly with Russian Minister of
Industry and Trade Viktor Khristenko.
While opening the meeting, the Vietnamese minister said, "We will
focus on the preparation for the next meeting of our intergovernmental
commission."
"I hope to coordinate the decisions, which the commission is expected
to adopt during its next meeting in Hanoi on October 19-21," Hoang said.
In his words, "the first two days of the October forum of the
commission will be devoted to meetings in the sub-commissions on energy,
industry, and oil and gas."
"On October 21, we jointly with Mr Khristenko will chair a plenary
meeting of the intergovernmental commission," the Vietnamese minister said.
Earlier in the day, an exhibition of Vietnamese goods opened in Moscow'
s ExpoCentre. As many as, 97 companies from various Vietnamese cities,
towns and provinces put on display their products.
The sides expect that the exhibition will promote bilateral economic
cooperation and facilitate implementation of agreements reached at the
level of the two governments.
In particular, Russia and Vietnam plan to increase bilateral trade to
three billion U.S. dollars by 2010.
