King Abdullah to patronize opening ceremony of KAUST

Jeddah, Sept 23, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King
Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will patronize tomorrow the opening ceremony
of King Abdullah University for Sciences and Technology (KAUST). The
function will be attended by a number of leaders of Arab, Muslim and
friendly countries.
Minister of petroleum and mineral resources and chairman of the board
of trustees of the university Eng Ali al-Naimi said in a statement to
SPA that the university will enable the Kingdom to attain great
scientific and economic achievements, adding that the university will
be concerned with advanced scientific researches.
He noted that the university will enhance cooperation with Saudi and
international knowledge institutions.
Eng. al-Naimi said the university will work like other Saudi
universities for attaining comprehensive scientific and economic
development .
He pointed out that studies will be confined to higher scientific
studies.
