Al-Naimi highlights importance of KAUST

Thawal, Saudi Arabia, Sept 23, SPA -- Minister of petroleum and
mineral resources and chairman of the board of trustees of King
Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Eng Ali
al-Naimi has described the opening of King Abdullah University of
Science and Technology (KAUST) as a historical event.
Addressing a press conference here today, he said the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia is keen on diversifying its sources of income.
Eng al-Naimi said KAUST will enable the Kingdom to cooperate with the
rest of the world in the field of researches, adding that the
university stands as a model for rationalizing resources and
utilizing them on sound scientific bases.
The establishment of KAUST is the most important achievement attained
by the Kingdom in the field of scientific research, he noted.
