Medvedev focuses on N Korea nuclear program during meetings with China leader, Japan PM.
NEW YORK, September 23 (Itar-Tass) -- The North Korean nuclear program issue was in the focus Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's meetings with Chinese leader Hu Xintao and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama.
"The North Korean nuclear program issue was discussed in detail during
[Medvedev's] meeting with the Chinese president. The Russian and Chinese
leaders pointed to the necessity to continue efforts aimed at the drawing
of North Korea to the six-nation dialogue," Russian Presidential Aide
Sergei Prikhodko said, commenting on the results of Wednesday's talks.
"During the meeting with the Japanese prime minister, the two leaders
focused on the North Korean nuclear program, too," the aide said.
"During the both meetings, the sides pointed to the need to intensify
denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, to resume the six-party talks
and to maintain regular dialog with Pyongyang," Prikhodko said.
