Russia wants US list of Afghan drug barons

WASHINGTON, September 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia wants to get the US
list of 50 Afghan drug barons and is ready to submit its own list of 150
cartels that are trafficking illegal drugs to Russia.
"I asked the United States to hand over the data," Russian anti-drug
service director Viktor Ivanov told reporters on Thursday after talks with
his US counterparts. In turn, "we supply to the Americans our list of 150
drug cartels for them to take into account in their work," he added.
The parties also agreed to exchange samples of Afghan drugs. "It is
extremely important as the talk is about 'fingerprints' of the lethal
products," Ivanov said, adding the exchange will boost efficiency of
anti-drug services of both countries.
