Jewish graves desecrated in Russia.

TVER, September 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Some 60 Jewish graves were
desecrated at a cemetery near the city of Tver, 150 kilometers northeast
of Moscow, the local administration said on Thursday, specifying the
graves were painted with bitumen on Wednesday.
Regional Public Chamber member Igor Elgardt said it was the third case
of vandalism at the Dmitrovo-Cherkassk cemetery this year. Late in April
21 graves were desecrated and another 60 in late July.
Head of the Tver administration Vasily Toloko said the vandals in the
previous cases were not found. "Impunity results in new acts of vandalism.
I hope law enforcers will work more actively after the new incident and
will find the culprits," he said.
First deputy head of the regional interior department Alexander
Arsenyev headed the team of investigators.

MADRID, September 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Garry Kasparov won the re-match
with Anatoly Karpov on Thursday.
The two chess grandmasters played eight blitz games and Kasparov won
6:2 bringing the total score to 9:3. Kasparov earlier won 3:1 in
semi-rapid games.
The exhibition chess match commemorated the 25th anniversary of their
marathon for the world championship title.
