Russian delegation at arms talks with US has wide mandate-Medvedev.
PITTSBURGH, September 26 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian delegation
dispatched to Europe for strategic arms talks with the United States has a
wide mandate, and the signing of an agreement may be expected by December,
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told a news conference ending his visit
to the United States, where he attended the UN General Assembly session
and the G20 summit.
"There has been a good start, we may come to terms by December. The
chances are good. This is a question of narrowing differences," he said.
Medvedev believes that the signing of a new strategic arms treaty may
take place not necessarily in the United States.
"We can do that any place, in Europe, Russia, or the United States,
provided we have the stuff ready," Medvedev said.
