China president praises highly coop between Russia, China media.

BEIJING, October 9 (ITAR-TASS) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao praised
highly the cooperation between Russian and Chinese mass media. The Chinese
president made a statement at a meeting with ITAR-TASS Director General
Vitaly Ignatenko, who is the co-chairman of the World Media Summit that
opened in Beijing on Friday.
"Your news agency does very much for further strengthening of the
cooperation between our countries," the Chinese leader said. "I can
acknowledge that I gave interviews to the ITAR-TASS news agency most
frequently," he noted. Hu Jintao expressed satisfaction with the
development of cooperation between ITAR-TASS and Chinese media. "I am glad
that the cooperation between your news agency and Chinese journalists is
developing successfully," he said.
About 300 representatives from 170 mass media are participating in the
World Media Summit. Xinhua, News Corporation, Associated Press, Reuters
News, ITAR-TASS, Kyodo News, BBC, CNN and Google co-organized the forum.
Mass media from the CIS states are represented broadly at the World Media
Summit.
