Meeting of bilateral commission on humanitarian coop ends in Dalian.

BEIJING, October 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Participants in a meeting of the
bilateral commission on humanitarian cooperation, which ended in Dalian
(Liaoning Province, North-East of China) on Saturday, discussed issues of
development of Russian-Chinese interaction in the field of culture, sport
and healthcare.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov and member of the State
Council of China Lu Yandong took part in the work of the commission. The
sides paid special attention to the holding of the Year of the Russian
Language in China and the future Year of the Chinese Language in Russia.
As the meeting participants noted, among the most important events in the
humanitarian sphere -- a trip of Chinese children who suffered from the
last year disastrous earthquake in the province of Sichuan to Russian
health-resorts. The sides also discussed cooperation in the field of
education in 2009-2010, the holding of days and decades of Chinese culture
in Russia and Russian culture in China.
Russia's Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres and the State Theatre of China
intend to develop exchanges. Cooperation will be continued in the field of
sport, tourism and healthcare. Film festivals of Russian and Chinese are
to be held.
