United Russia winning elections in Ingushetia.
NAZRAN, October 12 (Itar-Tass) -- The United Russia Party is winning
in the Sunday elections in Ingushetia, after votes had been counted in
Nazran, Karabulak and Magas.
United Russia gained 79.5% in Nazran, 69.6% in Karabulak and 72% in
Magas. The Liberal Democratic Party (11.18%) is running second in Nazran,
Just Russia (14.9%) - in Karabulak and the Liberal Democrats (15.3%) - in
Magas.
Just Russia (6.26%) is ranked third in Nazran, the Liberal Democratic
Party - in Karabulak (9.9%).
.Incumbent Astrakhan mayor winning mayoral elections.
VOLGOGRAD, October 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Incumbent Astrakhan Mayor from
the United Russia Party Sergei Bozhenov is winning convincingly the
mayoral elections in this city on the Volga River, after 50% of votes had
been counted, secretary of the city election commission Roman Biryulev
told Itar-Tass on Monday.
"A little bit more than 65% of voters supported United Russia
candidate Sergei Bozhenov, Just Russia candidate Oleg Shein gained 26%,
Communist candidate Rostislav Alexeyev - 4.5%, self-nominee Dmitry Strokin
- one percent, the Liberal Democratic candidate polled less than one
percent so far," the secretary said.
According to the preliminary information, the turnout has made 45.6%
at the Astrakhan mayoral elections.
The city election commission noted that no serious violations were
reported at the elections.
.United Russia to present to Medvedev candidates for 3 governors.
MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) -- The United Russia Party intends to
present to President Dmitry Medvedev its candidacies for three governors,
Chairman of the United Russia Supreme Council Boris Gryzlov told reporters
on Sunday.
"We will present our candidacies for governors of the Komi republic,
the Volgograd region and the Mari El republic," he said. Gryzlov noted
that the United Russia General Council Presidium would meet at 11 a.m.
Moscow time on Monday.
"We will certainly discuss the election campaign, and I think we will
also speak about our proposals for the presidential state-of-the-nation
address," he added. "In his article "Go Russia!" Dmitry Anatolyevich asked
all Russian citizens, and respectively deputies, to make their proposals
on all steps that should be taken," Gryzlov elaborated.
.Only United Russia, Communists winning Moscow elections so far.

MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) -- Only two parties - United Russia and
the Communist Party are winning the Moscow City Duma Elections so far,
after 50.34% of votes had been counted.
"United Russia has gained 64.88%, the Communist Party - 13.54% so
far," member of the Moscow city election commission Vyacheslav Shulenin
told Itar-Tass.
Thus, only two parties are winning the Moscow City Duma elections.
Other parties did not pass the 7% election hurdle. The Liberal Democratic
Party has polled 6.75%, Just Russia - 5.44%, Yabloko - 4.84% and the
Patriots of Russia - 2.04% so far.
United Russia is also winning in the voting at single-mandate
electoral districts.
The turnout makes 34.82%.
.United Russia candidates elected as mayors on Kuriles.
YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, October 12 (Itar-Tass) -- New mayors were elected
on the Kurile Islands.
Local police chief Vasily Solomko nominated from United Russia was
elected as mayor of the Yuzhno-Kurilsk district, which includes the
islands Kunashir and Shikotan. He gained 33.19% of votes. Former mayor of
the district Igor Koval nominated from Just Russia lost the elections with
18.5%. The turnout made 56% in the Yuzhno-Kurilsk district that showed one
of the highest turnout rates in the Sakhalin region, secretary of the
regional election commission Lyudmila Lukyanova said.
A new mayor was also elected in the Severo-Kurilsk district on the
Paramushir Island. Managing director of the local company Moreprodukt (Sea
Product) Alexander Krinitsyn nominated from United Russia was elected as
mayor in the district. Former mayor Alexander Somov, who is also a United
Russia member, came second with 38.76%.
Nevelsk Mayor Vladimir Pak came to power again. After a devastating
earthquake in August 2007 he was accused of embezzling the resources
allocated for the cleanup of the natural disaster and was suspended from
office. He was nominated as a United Russia candidate for mayor again and
won a landslide victory with 56.99% of votes. Other two candidates failed
to compete with Pak.
