RF, China seek to regulate mutual trade - Zhukov.

BEIJING, October 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and China show interest in
regulating mutual trade, Russian Vice-Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov told reporters on Monday.

He summed up the results of the commission's work devoted to
preparations for a meeting between the Russian and Chinese prime ministers
to take place on October 13.
"Our purpose is to exclude 'gray import' to Russia from China and
unregulated trade," he said. "We seek to regulate our trade," Zhukov
stressed.
"If all is transparent and legitimate, no problems will emerge similar
to what we faced in the Cherkizovo market," the Russian vice-prime
minister said.
To this end, he stressed the need to create a special working group in
order exchange information on goods and prices between the customs
services.
Trade and economic relations between Russia and China are developing
dynamically, Zhukov said.
New positive tendencies emerge in trade and economic relations between
the two countries, Zhukov told journalists.
"Despite the world financial crisis, our trade and economic relations
and scientific-technical contacts are developing dynamically," he said.
According to the Russian vice-prime minister, two important programmes
were prepared and approved. The investment programme "envision
considerable Chinese investments in different projects and industrial
facilities in Russia".
He stressed that the border programme between Far Eastern regions of
Siberia and the north-east of China envisioned a great number of projects,
primarily in the territory of Russia. In particular, "we intend to create
dozens of milling joint ventures in order to increase Russia's export to
China", Zhukov said.
He noted certain positive moments in approving the structure of
Russian-Chinese trade turnover. "I want to say the task that we set over
the last years (to increase export of Russian machinery to China) is
beginning realising gradually," he said. The vice-prime minister pointed
to some projects on the development of mineral resources in Russia,
including with the attraction of Chinese investments.
Zhukov praised the successful work of bilateral sub-commissions on
space, scientific and technical cooperation, and energy. "We succeeded in
concluding breakthrough agreements," the vice-prime minister said.
