SCO prime ministers to sign protocol to train customs officials.

BEIJING, October 14 (Itar-Tass) - SCO heads of government will sign a protocol of cooperation in training senior officials of customs services, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told a meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council on Wednesday.

"Coordinated efforts of customs services of the SCO member-states that
depend on the level of competence and mutual understanding of its officers
are significant," he said adding that the implementation of the protocol
will make this work more effective. According to Putin the day before
Russia and China were also busy improving the customs interaction on the
bilateral level.
"Economic problems inevitably emerge in the sphere of labour
migration," he said. During the previous meeting in Astana, he recalled,
they already began discussing the whole range of topics connected with
this sphere. "It is important that this dialogue embraced such issues as
the fight against illegal migration, readmission and improvement of rules
for legal migrants to ensure their rights and legal interests."
"We should protect these people and we will be able to do so only when
we ensure a full regulation of this process," he said.
Moreover, Putin called for speeding up work on two pilot projects to
create an integrated information space of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization - trans-border cooperation with the use of a digital
signature of the SCO member-states and the SCO high-speed information
highway.
