Kim Jong-Il visits concert by Russian song & dance company.

PYONGYANG, October 18 (Itar-Tass) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il
viewed on Saturday a concert by the song and dance company of the Russian
Interior Ministry. The performance was held in the city of Wonsan, located
on the country's eastern coast.

The KCNA news agency reported on Sunday that Kim Jong Il had a chat
with the company head Viktor Yeliseyev prior to the concert. The Korean
leader thanked his company for "wonderful concerts, bringing joy to the
people of the DPRK". The meeting was also attended by Russian Ambassador
to the people's republic Valery Sukhinin.
The concert of the Russian company started with the rendition of one
of the most known works in North Korea - "Song about military leader Kim
Il-Sung". The company also performed popular Russian and Korean works as
well as the Neapolitan song "Return to Sorrento". The programme was
crowned with the rendition of the song "Russia and Korea - friends
forever", specially written for the present guest performances.
Following the concert, Kim Jong Il thanked the Russian actors for the
successful performance. Along with the head of state, the concert was
viewed by secretaries of the Central Committee of the Korean Workers'
Party Kim Ki-Nam and Choe Tae Bok, Minister of People's Security Ju Sang
Son and DPRK First Vice Foreign Minister Kang Sok Chu.
