S. Korea to launch investigation into multinational drug distributor

SEOUL, Oct. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will start investigating a multinational
drug distributer for its alleged involvement in improper market practices, a top
health and welfare policymaker said Friday.

Health and Welfare Minister Jeon Jae-hee made the remarks in response to a
lawmaker's claim during a parliamentary audit that Zuellig, a multinational drug
distributer, is monopolizing the domestic market by hampering transactions
between foreign drug makers and local wholesalers.
"We will start investigation to see if it is engaged in such unfair market
practices," the minister said, without going into detailed plans such as when and
how the probe will be conducted.
