Seoul stocks edge higher late morning

SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded marginally higher late
Tuesday morning as exporter gains outweighed banking falls, analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) added 0.95 point, or 0.06
percent, to trade at 1,560.04 as of 11:20 a.m.
The key index swung between gains and losses as steep falls by financial shares
dragged on tech and auto increases. Bank shares traded sharply lower as the
bankruptcy filing of U.S. lender CIT Group stoked concerns over the financial
sector.
The local currency was trading at 1,176.75 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 5.25 won from Monday' close.
