MOSCOW, November 13 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
and Chinese President Hu Jintao are expected to discuss in Singapore
measures to overcome the global crisis. China's view would be very useful
for Russia, as China has not felt the impact of the global financial
crisis, Russian president's aide Sergei Prikhodko said on Friday.
"I believe much attention will be paid at the meeting to joint efforts
to overcome the crisis," Prikhodko said. "It is particularly important for
us to discuss it with China, as the crisis has practically not affected
that country, and on the contrary they used the current conjuncture to
build up their indexes," he noted. "It is useful for us to speak about
that," he believes.
"We shall also continue a conversation about modernisation of the
world financial credit system," Prikhodko said. "This does not mean that
we have ready offers, but we must constantly maintain a conversation about
that," he explained.
Besides, the leaders will analyse the current state of cooperation and
joint activities on the international arena.
Prikhodko stressed that the Russian-Chinese dialogue is permanent.
"Practically at all international forums, such as G8, G20, SCO and APEC,
the leaders traditionally hold separate talks," he noted. He did not rule
out that the Russian president could have other bilateral meetings on the
sidelines of the APEC summit. In particular, he plans to meet with the
president of Vietnam and the Canadian prime minister.
A meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama is also
possible. The leaders agreed on that when they met at a session of the
U.N. General Assembly in New York in September.
Prior to heading for Singapore, Hatoyama said he was ready to continue
a dialogue with Medvedev on the whole range of bilateral relations. In
particular, if the meeting in Singapore does take place, he intends to
"deepen discussions that gradually progress" "on all issues, including the
territorial one".
