GCC Secretary General hails Khalifa's support for GCC's march
Abu Dhabi, Dec 8, 2009 (WAM) - Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has praised as 'critical' the role the UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is playing in advancing the GCC march towards welfare and prosperity of GCC citizens.
“The UAE, under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, has been and is still the prime supporter of GCC resolutions and their implementation for the sake of consolidating joint cooperation,” he told WAM.
Al Attiyah also lauded proactive measures taken by the UAE under directives of Sheikh Khalifa to address the implications of the international financial crisis and cushion its economy against them. He added that he had briefed Sheikh Khalifa on the agenda on the upcoming 30th GCC summit in Kuwait which will be held in mid-December.
