First ADNOC crude cargo lands at Japan
Tokyo - December 22, 2009 (WAM) - The first crude oil shipment from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were offloaded yesterday at the port of Kagoshima in southern Japan, bringing a memorandum of understanding signed by the Abu Dhabi's Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) and Japan's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy on oil storage facility into force. The facility has the capacity of storing 3.56 million barrels.
ADNOC said the enforcement of the agreement, the first of its kind between the governments of Abu Dhabi and Japan, was in line with instructions by the wise leadership under the strategic plan of Abu Dhabi. ADNOC and Nippon Oil Corp of Japan signed in early December a logistics management agreement in Tokyo.
