PM-POLICE 2 LAST

Singh said if the tribal areas' problems were not given
the attention they deserve, then it could raise to naxalism as
has been seen in some parts of the country.

"We cannot allow any group of our people to go the
misguided path of taking law into their hands. We must do so
in a manner which enhances the people's trust and confidence
in our administration particularly the police administration,"
he said.
He said the policemen should be well versed in subjects
like cyber crime and in the disaster management activities as
India was a country where disasters were now becoming more and
more frequent.
Singh said for the police force, the final bible must be
the Constitution of India. The Indian state guarantees certain
fundamental rights and in the administration of justice, one
increasingly hears complaints of high-handedness of officials
who sometimes belong to police.
"So, I think it is very important in discharging your
responsibilities, the enforcement of law and order must be
endowed with a spirit that is consistent with what is stated
in the Constitution of India," he said. PTI MS
