CONFERENCE-CHALLENGE 2 LT
Without referring to the long pending women's
reservation bill which seeks to give 33 per cent reservation
to women in the Indian Parliament, he said that it is also
imperative that women are given a more meaningful voice in
political and developmental processes.

"In India, I am proud to say that, with reservation in
our local bodies, we have more than a million elected
representatives who are women," he said.
The representative bodies of the country should think of
ways to marshall the energy and the impatience of the young
and the vast latent capabilities of women, he said.
To mark the occasion, the Prime Minister also released a
commemorative stamp on Indian Parliament. PTI SPG
