TRS chief meets Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS)
chief K Chandrasekhar Rao Sunday had a meeting with Indian
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in an apparent move to press for
early formation of a separate Telangana state.
Rao did not speak to reporters after meeting Singh, which
was for the first time after the Indian Government initiated
the process of talks with recognised political parties on the
Telangana issue.
The TRS chief discussed with the Prime Minister about the
political developments in the state, sources said.
On January 6, he had also met Home Minister P Chidambaram
on the Telangana issue and described it as "satisfactory".
The TRS chief, who is spearheading the movement for
the separate state, had also described the all party meeting
convened here on January 5 as "a pleasant meeting and
satisfactory."
The meeting, however, ended in a stalemate.
The all party meeting was attended by eight registered
political parties in Andhra Pradesh -- Congress, Telugu Desam
Party (TDP), TRS, Praja Rajyam, Communist Party of
India-Marxist (CPI-M), Communist Party of India (CPI),
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Majlis e Ittehad ul Muslimeen
(MIM). PTI SGI
