The centennial anniversary of the establishment of a friendship agreement between Mongolia and Russia is marked this year. On this occasion the first scientific conference was co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Embassy of Russian Federation to Mongolia, the Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of International Studies.
The document concluded with the Russian Empire was the very first international agreement for Mongolia who declared its independence and sovereignty on November 3, 1912 upon 1911 National Liberation Revolution.
Through this agreement the Russian Empire not only recognized Mongolia’s independence and its Government, but also became the legal fundament for strengthening the sovereignty of the Mongolian statehood. Therefore, Mongolia attaches great significance to the anniversary. In this respect, an international scientific conference has been convened on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of I.Ya. Korostovets who signed the agreement from the Russian side.
At the conference, Russian, Japanese, German, Canadian and Mongolian scholars delivered reports stressing that the document had opened up an opportunity for Mongolia to establish relations with every countries of the world on the equal basis and that there are many historical resources to be studied in this respect.
