The specialists of the ‘Akkol’ Center of Space Communication are preparing to replace the space satellite, KazSat-2. The first Kazakh ground control system for space vehicles and communication monitoring systems is equipped with technology. The center is responsible for Kazakhstan’s information security. Right from this place the KazSat space communication and broadcasting system is operated.

TALGAT MUSABAYEV, MEMBER OF SENATE, UPPER HOUSE OF KAZAKH PARLIAMENT:
- Of course, we plan to expand and improve the space connection. The lifespan of these satellites ranges from 12.5 to 15 years. The experience shows that if the equipment is correctly operated and there were no extreme disasters in space that can lead to malfunctions, the satellites can last much longer. This is what we expect.

Satellites of the KazSat system are 39,000 kilometers away from the Earth. The specialists of the Mission Control Center conduct around the clock adjustments of the satellite coordinates. The signal level and the quality of its distribution over frequencies are checked in the monitoring hall. A few years remain until the expiration date of the KazSat-2 satellite.

SHOKAN SVOGUZOV, DIRECTOR, ‘AKKOL’ CENTER OF SPACE COMMUNICATION:
- The technical resources of the KazSat-2 spacecraft were calculated until 2023. Therefore, the goal is set to replace this spacecraft by 2023. With the KazSat-2 we have already reached a positive result. With the third satellite, we are doing well, too.

The KazSat spacecraft is designed to provide e-government services, TV and radio broadcasting, data transmission, multimedia and mobile communication services in Central Asia, some part of the CIS, China and Mongolia.
