13-storied Octagonal Pagoda at Pohyon Temple

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- The 13-storied octagonal pagoda at Pohyon Temple on Mt Myohyang in the DPRK is the one built in the closing years of Koryo Dynasty (918-1392).

The pagoda consists of three-stage stone, the platform with lotus patterns, 13-storied tower body and head.

It shows the advanced masonry of the medieval age of Korea.

It, a typical tower in the period of Koryo Dynasty, is well preserved thanks to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on protecting the national heritage. -0-
