181 athletes from Kyrgyzstan to take part in Asian Games in China

Bishkek, May 31, 2023. / Kabar /. The team from Kyrgyzstan for the Asian Games will include 181 athletes, Sadyr Mamytov, president of the National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, told at a press conference at Kabar Agency.

According to him, the games, which were canceled in 2022 due to the pandemic, will be held from September 23 to October 8 in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.

He noted that 40 sports are included in the program of the 19 Asian Games.

“Our athletes will perform in 26 sports, such as boxing, swimming, shooting, archery, judo, weightlifting, Greco-Roman, freestyle and women's wrestling, karate, fencing, athletics, rowing and canoeing, modern pentathlon, taekwon-do, triathlon, volleyball, football, kurash, chess, jiu-jitsu, e-sports, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, artistic gymnastics, wushu san-da, equestrian sports,” he informed.

In total, according to him, more than 200 people will take part in the event. Of these, 181 athletes in the above sports, 46 coaches, doctors, press service representatives and members of the delegation.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy - Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Abdymomunov said that preparations for the games are in full swing, the athletes will go through all the training camps.
