Anniversary of Osaka Korean Middle and High School under Chongryon Marked

Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- A meeting to mark the 70th founding anniversary of Osaka Korean Middle and High School under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and a grand festival of Koreans in Osaka took place at the Osaka Korean Hall of Culture and the playground of the school on May 14.

Present there were Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and director of the Organizational Department of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, Song Kun Hak, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and director of the Education Department, and the chairpersons of Wakayama and Nara prefectural headquarters of Chongryon, officials of Chongryon, members of the executive committee for marking the 70th founding anniversary of Osaka Korean Middle and High School, graduates, teaching staff, students, compatriots and parents of the students.

A congratulatory message from the Education Commission of the DPRK was introduced at the meeting.

Pak Ku Ho made a congratulatory speech.

Ko Won Hyong, chairman of the executive committee for marking the 70th founding anniversary of Osaka Korean Middle and High School, made an address and then Kim Chae Hyon, principal of Osaka Korean Middle and High School, made a report.

The reporter said that 70 years covered by the school were the patriotic course in which competent talents making a tangible contribution to the prosperity of the homeland and the movement of Koreans in Japan have been trained under the warm care of the peerlessly great men and the course of noble love, struggle and victory of the compatriots to bring up the rising generation despite the ordeals and difficulties.

He expressed the determination to turn the school into an attractive one to be desired by students and their protectors as instructed by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his important letter, bearing in mind the pride of being the supreme organ of national education in Osaka and thus steadfastly carry forward the patriotic tradition of the nation.

Then a grand festival of Koreans took place.

The participants watched a video dealing with the congratulations made by the people in the homeland and a congratulatory performance given by members of the art groups of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace in the DPRK under the special care of Kim Jong Un.

There were various performances of students of the school and colorful events introducing the successive principals of the school, chairpersons of the Korean Educationists Association in Japan and graduates active in various fields. -0-
