Asian Games: Qatari Football Team Due to Face Palestine on Friday

Hangzhou (China), September 21 (QNA) - The Qatari football team will face heir Palestinian counterparts on Friday in the second round of football competitions in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. The Qatari U-23 team are aiming to redeem themselves after their loss in the opening match against Japan 0-3, in hopes of moving forward to the next round. The first and second-place finishers from Group D will qualify for the Round of 16, along with the four best third-placed teams at the end of the Group Stage. During the team's training session, the Portuguese head coach Ilodio Vale focused on addressing the mistakes made in Japan's match, notably tactical aspects, to deliver a better performance in Friday's match. The Qatari football team prepared for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou after participating in the AFC U-23 Cup qualifiers in South Korea, in which the team won all three matches they played. Friday's match marks the fourth time that the Qatari team faced Palestine. (QNA)
