Bishkek hosts annual Immortal Regiment procession

Bishkek, May 9, 2023. /Kabar/. Bishkek hosts the annual procession of the Immortal Regiment.

The march started from the Victory Park named after Dair Asanov (Southern Gate) at the intersection of Baitik Baatyr and Masaliev Streets (Southern Highway). The procession will end with the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame on Victory Square.

According to preliminary data, about 10 thousand people take part in the action.

Kyrgyzstan joined the Immortal Regiment campaign in 2012.

More than 360,000 Kyrgyz people took part in this war, of which over 150,000 received high state awards for their courage and heroism, including 22 fellow countrymen became full holders of the Order of Glory, and 77 became Heroes of the Soviet Union.

More than 100,000 Kyrgyzstanis died and went missing during the Great Patriotic War.
