3rd Asean-Latin Business Forum Begins In Jakarta

SINGAPORE, July 9 (Bernama) -- Senior government and trade officials, academics and business leaders from Latin America and Southeast Asia meet in Jakarta for the 3rd Asean-Latin Business Forum beginning Sunday until Monday. In a statement, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said the forum aims to raise awareness about growing trade and investment relations between Asean and Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) countries. It also seeks to encourage resource mobilisation to enhance economic ties between the two regions. Singapore will be represented by Minister for Trade and Industry, Lim Hng Kiang. Lim will join other trade ministers in a panel discussion on how Southeast Asia and Latin America are driving global trade and investment. They will also explore ways to enhance economic collaboration between the two regions in the next two decades to contribute towards sustainable growth. Lim is accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry. -- BERNAMA
