Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development launches new website and internal knowledge portal

The Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development Mohammed Omar Abdullah, has officially launched the new website http://www.ded.abudhabi.ae, and the internal knowledge portal of the Department in their new look. The kick off came during a recent ceremony held at ADDED's headquarters and attended by a number of distinguished executives, directors, heads of departments and staff members. The Under Secretary's speech in the event, stressed the keenness and determination of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to provide best tools and techniques that would place ADDED among smart government departments; and best serve partners and customers in a way that keeps pace with the aspirations of Abu Dhabi government, and helps implementing e-strategies and achieving transition to the smart government. He noted that the new website and internal knowledge portal, keep up with the latest technologies, in conjunction with Abu Dhabi Government strategic objectives to set a sophisticated and effective smart e-government platform, that outmatches similar international systems and satisfies the needs customers to enhance the partnership between the Department strategic partners in private and public sectors, and individuals as well. Ghanem Mohammed Al Fandi Al Mazroui, the Executive Director of Support Services at the Department of Economic Development, delivered the opening speech at the ceremony, in which he stated that the new website and internal knowledge portal, mark important accomplishments that will contribute to dissemination of knowledge at the level of the Department, facilitate achieving the strategic objectives and develop capacities and capabilities, through an advanced and highly accurate liaison system, and easy flow of information between ADDED and its strategic partners. Al Mazroui noted that the new website was loaded with many features such as flow of information, publishing, enhanced communication with various categories of strategic partners, and the package of services provided by the Department of Economic Development under the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to it in accordance with the Law No. (2) of 2009 on the Establishment of the Department of Economic Development. He said that the web was designed according to the latest standards of quality, clarity, ease of use and navigation taking into account the institutional identity of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, and the innovative presentation of news and calendar of events and activities. Al Mazroui added that the new website offers a guide to e-services and creating applications for mobile phones and tablets such as (iPhone, iPad, Android Phone, Android Tablet, etc ) in addition to the activation of the (external) event management system on the website, and the possibility dissemination of the contents of the website, online or through mobile phone applications to social networking sites. The website also includes technicalities and usability considerations for those with special needs, such as font zoom-in and zoom-out; as well as audio reader, in accordance with the standards of Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC) stipulated for Abu Dhabi Government e-portals. The new website is linked to Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), through the SSO service, which enables ADDED's customers to sign in, using the unified technique for logging to Abu Dhabi Government Portal, filing a complaint or participating in events on the website. At the level of the internal knowledge portal, Al Mazroui said that the advantages of the new portal, include allocating a space for each employee to participate and disseminate knowledge to the rest of ADDED's staff, through his personal code and space; which will contribute to transferring knowledge and adding value to communication among staff. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
