AMER to kick off in Bangkok tomorrow

BANGKOK, Nov1 (TNA) - Thai Energy Minister, Gen Anantaporn Kanjanarat has inspected readiness of the venue of the 7th Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable (AMER7) at Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok as it will be officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong tomorrow. Gen Anataporn said that during the meeting, Thailand will provide information on the country's potential as ASEAN's leader in alternative energy and energy conservation in line with the country's clear energy policies particularly Thailand Integrated Energy Blueprint and Energy 4.0 policy. The minister said 24 countries and 12 international organizations would participate in the meeting. Thailand will also hold bilateral discussion with at least five countries, including Saudi Arabia and UAE, which could lead to new investment cooperation. Cultural shows will be performed to welcome honourable guest this evening. The 7th AMER will focus on global energy market in transition. Member countries including oil producers and consumers will share information on the energy situation of oil market, natural gas market and renewable energy, which will also benefit Thailand. The kingdom is one of few countries in Asia, having clear energy plans and implementation of energy policies. (TNA)
